Terms of Service

These terms govern your access to and use of ValidAnytime. Please read them carefully — by using the service you agree to them.

Effective July 6, 2026

1. Who we are

ValidAnytime is a hosted monitoring service operated by Compiled Intelligence, Inc., a company registered in Delaware, United States (“Compiled Intelligence,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). “You” means the individual or entity that creates an account or otherwise uses the service. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these terms, and “you” refers to that organization.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any order or plan you select, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service.

2. The service

ValidAnytime provides anytime-valid monitoring: you stream numeric metric values to our hosted API, and our detection engine raises alarms when a metric genuinely changes, within a stated false-alarm budget. The detection engine runs in the ValidAnytime cloud. The open-source validanytime Python SDK is a thin HTTP client for the hosted API — it does not run the engine locally, and its use means streaming metric values to, and reading alarms from, the hosted service.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the service. Account sign-in and identity are handled by our authentication provider. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and API keys, for all activity under your account, and for promptly notifying us of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for the acts and omissions of anyone you allow to access your account.

4. Plans, billing, and payment

  • Plans and fees. Paid plans are described on our pricing page. By selecting a paid plan you agree to pay the fees for that plan. We may offer a free tier or trial; we may change what the free tier includes on a going-forward basis.
  • Payment processor. Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for the fees due. We do not store full payment-card numbers; those are handled by Stripe.
  • Subscriptions and renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) at the then-current rate, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Taxes. Fees are exclusive of taxes. You are responsible for any sales, use, VAT, or similar taxes, which may be added to your charges where applicable.
  • Refunds. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused capacity. If we materially reduce a feature you paid for, contact us and we will work with you in good faith.
  • Changes to pricing. We may change our fees. For existing paid subscriptions, price changes take effect at the next renewal, and we will give you advance notice.

5. Your data and content

Customer Data” means the metric values, labels, timestamps, and configuration you submit to the service. As between you and us, you own your Customer Data. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and transmit Customer Data solely to provide, secure, and improve the service and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for your Customer Data and for having the rights to submit it. The service is designed so you send only the numeric values you choose — it does not require raw datasets, model internals, prompts, or personal information about your end users. You agree not to submit such material, and not to include personal or regulated data in metric names or labels. How we handle Customer Data is described in the Privacy Policy; a Data Processing Addendum is available for customers who require one.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service in violation of any law or third-party right;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the service, or attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or security measures;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying models of the hosted engine, or use the service to build a competing service;
  • resell, sublicense, or provide the service to a third party except as expressly permitted by your plan;
  • upload malicious code, or use the service to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.

7. What our statistical guarantees mean

Our guarantees are mathematical properties of the methods we use — chiefly that a monitor’s false-alarm rate stays within a stated budget however often you check it. Those properties hold under the assumptions stated in our documentation. They are not a warranty that the service will detect every real-world problem, detect it by a particular time, or prevent any outcome. Monitoring is a tool to inform your decisions; it does not replace your own judgment, controls, or obligations. You are responsible for how you act on alarms and on the absence of alarms.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may perform maintenance. We may add, change, or discontinue features. If we make a material adverse change to a paid feature, we will give you reasonable notice. Features labeled beta, preview, or experimental are provided as is and may change or be withdrawn.

9. Intellectual property

The service, the hosted engine, and all related software, content, and trademarks are owned by Compiled Intelligence or its licensors, and are protected by law. Except for the rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights. The validanytime Python SDK is published under its open-source (MIT) license, and your use of it is governed by that license. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or obligation to you.

10. Third-party services

We rely on third-party providers to deliver the service — including Stripe for payments, our authentication provider for sign-in, and cloud hosting and infrastructure providers. Your use of the service is also subject to those providers’ terms where applicable. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

11. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in these terms, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Compiled Intelligence from third-party claims and related costs arising out of your Customer Data, your use of the service in violation of these terms or law, or your infringement of a third party’s rights.

14. Term and termination

These terms apply while you use the service. You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if required for security or legal reasons, or on reasonable notice for other reasons. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including data ownership, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) survive.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Any dispute that is not resolved will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to venue there, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing here limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
